THIS IS NOT YOUR NORMAL Wiki!!!!
All Wiki's are vandalized. To largely curb this, we have established certain security procedures.
Anonymous users can read content. They can not access discussion pages. They can not edit anything.
Users can register. You will then be able to access and edit discussion pages. This is where you can copy over text you want to modify and edit it or submit new material.
If you want to edit, look at the small words at the very top, right hand corner of this page. If they say, "log out", you can edit. If they say "log in / create account" do the appropriate thing first.
Once registered, you can add text by clicking the discussion tab, at the top of any page.
We have a pool of editors that patrol these pages and will review your submissions. An editor will move what you write to the public pages, assuming it is appropriate, accurate and on topic. There are currently 4 editors recruited, and we will tap good contributers and invite them to become editors to expand this pool.
For the skills wanted and classifieds sections - we are still working out policy on these. Our concern is that e-mail addresses will be harvested by spam bots, and also that some people will be reluctant to volunteer or post contact info onto an open forum. As we go from a beta to open forum, there are still a few in here, but for the future, unless a user specifies they want their info in the open, we will remove it and a request must be made for access to it either by e-mailing operationcatherder (at) gmail (dot) com or completing one of the forms at the beginning of that page. For requests for a type of help, we are thinking of establishing mailing lists by skill category, say web designers, and when a request comes in, sending the requesters contact info along with the requirement to that list. We are a networking service here - a clearing house. Your request will also be posted so those not in one of our pools can respond to it through us. We don't actually do the work - just put you in touch with those that can. There is no guarantee someone will volunteer for what you want done. To stay legal, your volunteer is making an in kind contribution for the value of their services and donating that amount to your campaign. There should be no record keeping if the value is less than $200, but it's between you and the individual volunteer to work out record keeping details if services or goods would exceed that amount. We just run a classifieds service.
One final note - every thing you post here becomes public domain. The field manual in particular, we hope to get commercially published with all proceeds going to freedom projects - the distribution of proceeds done by popular vote like the ronpaultoolbar proceeds are and/or given to Dr. Paul's PAC. No one here will make a penny off it.
Have fun and lets glue together a network that can hit the ground running come 2010 so we can win in 2012!
thanks,
The Cat Herder team
